We’re working with an independent firm of Chartered Surveyors based in Hertfordshire.
They manage an extensive portfolio of leasehold blocks and wider freehold estates across London, the inner M25 and home counties on behalf of freeholders, developers and leaseholders.
As a result of demand, coupled with a wish to bring more work back in-house (for both fee income and quality control), they now seek to hire an additional Building Surveyor / Major Works Surveyor for the delivery of major remedial work projects along with regular maintenance and professional building surveying services as follows:
- Degree or equivalent in Building Surveying (RICS not essential)
- 5 years Building Surveying experience
- Working remote/from home, visiting sites as required and the office once fortnightly for team updates.
- Housing / residential background desirable, particularly leasehold project works (under S20)
- Project management of major projects including remediation works (window/balcony replacements, internal/external redecorations etc.).
- Preparation of Long-Term Maintenance Plans (CapEx) for budget provision
- Preparation of building insurance reinstatement cost assessments.
- Condition surveys and defect diagnosis.
- Specification, tender preparation and contract administration on repair and maintenance projects (£20-250k typical value range)
- Understanding of H&S and CDM Regulations.
- Provide technical advice to clients.
The successful Building Surveyor / Major Works Surveyor can expect a basic salary up to £70k plus bonus, mileage and benefits in addition to a generous leave entitlement and excellent career progression.
