My client is a leading retirement village developer who have been established since 1981.
Based from there site near Torquay, they are now looking to expand the team and as such are looking for an experienced property manager / block manager / estate manager to take on the management of their retirement village for the over 55’s overseeing the site based staff, contractor works and service charge budgets on a 1-2 year contract to start with the possibility of becoming permanent thereafter.
This particular site is due to undergo £600,000 worth of major works with another £600,000 over the next 18 months – 4 years. The successful property manager / block manager / estate manager is required to have experience in overseeing major works and the section 20 process.
The successful property manager / block manager / estate manager will be responsible for overseeing the main buildings (all based on one site) within the village: – Retirement houses, apartments and studios, Residential / Nursing home, Domiciliary and Dementia Suites.
Ideally the successful property manager / block manager / estate manager will be IRPM qualified but more importantly is experience within residential management and ideally experience with the lease change process (although not essential)
Due to the nature of the portfolio, attention to detail and sympathy are key.
Package for the successful property manager / block manager / estate manager is negotiable on experience but likely to fall in the £40k – £42k bracket to start with medical insurance, phone and laptop also included.
